Randy Allen Peebles, 61, of Springfield passed away on Saturday, July 1st, 2017 at his residence.
Randy was born on June 6th, 1956 in Peoria, the son of Harold and Charlotte Peebles. He married Cathy Simpson on June 27th, 1981. Randy was a graduate of Porta High School. Randy and wife, Cathy opened Midstate Gymnastics Academy in June of 1981. Randy was an owner and head women’s gymnastics coach at Midstate for over 35 years. He touched the lives of many young athletes and families during his coaching career. He was a volunteer in the Illinois State Gymnastics Organization for over 25 years, and was recently honored by receiving the Illinois Lifetime Achievement Award earlier this summer. Overall, Randy was a great dad, loving husband, successful coach, and outstanding man.
A Celebration honoring his life will be held on Sunday, August 27th from 2:00-5:00pm at the VFW Hall at 2211 Old Jacksonville Road in Springfield, Illinois.
